Join a Program...
Community Library’s mission is to provide welcoming environments for all to pursue knowledge and cultivate interests. In addition to our collection of books, databases, and multimedia materials, we offer a variety of additional services that enhance the lives of Big Walnut area residents.
Lockers
Community Library offers an after-hours pickup service through outdoor accessible lockers. To utilize this service, simply call the library and ask that your materials be placed in a 24×7 locker. You can then retrieve it from the lockers at your convenience, even after the library is closed. Items are kept in the locker for 24 hours before being put back into circulation.
Drive Through
Community Library offers drive-through service for patrons to pick up their holds without leaving their car. The drive-through as well as outside drop boxes for material returns are located on the west side of the building.
Group Study Rooms
Community Library offers group study rooms for the purpose of meeting, collaborating, studying, and reading, just to name a few. Rooms are available when the library is open on a first come, first serve basis. However, rooms can be reserved for two hours, but no more than once a week. Following the initial two hours, rooms are used in one hour increments. Book a room online through the link or call 740-965-3901 to reserve a room.
Outreach
Community Library helps get books and other materials into the hands of home-bound patrons living in the Big Walnut area through our outreach service. To apply, fill out an application form or contact the library at outreachservices@yourcl.org or 740-965-3901.
Library App
The COOL Libraries app lets you search your library for books, movies, audiobooks, music, and more.
What can you do with COOL Library?
- Use your device as a library card
- View your library account and renew items
- Search and reserve library materials from the online catalog
Use COOL Library to access these COOL Ohio Libraries: Arcanum Public Library, Blanchester Public Library, Bucyrus Public Library, Cardington-Lincoln Public Library, Community Library (Sunbury), Galion Public Library, J. R. Clarke Public Library, Marvin Memorial Library, Mount Gilead Public Library, Selover Public Library, Wilmington Public Library, Worch Memorial Public Library, Wornstaff Memorial Library.
Computer/Wifi
Community Library offers full computer and public wifi services in the library. We also have wifi available 24-hours from our parking lot if needed while the library is closed.
Print/Fax
Community Library offers printing, copying and fax services. Cost of printing and copying in both black-and-white and color is $0.15 per single sided sheet and $0.25 per double sided sheet.
Faxes cost $1.00 for the first page and $0.15 for every page following.
Passport
Community Library offers passport services by appointment. Appointments are available weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. To request an appointment, call 740-965-3901 or email requests to passports@yourcl.org. Photo services are available on a walk-in basis whenever possible. More information about the passport process and traveling abroad can be found at https://travel.state.gov.
Notary
Community Library offers notary services upon request. Please call the library at 740-965-3901 to find the next available notary.
BookShelf Subscriptions
Are there certain authors that you love and can’t wait to read their latest books?
Subscribe to popular authors with Bookshelf Subscriptions. Once subscribed, whenever an author releases a new title, we will automatically place your name on hold for the title. All you have to do is let us know what authors’ books you want.
